Finally Pregnant!

We’re having a baby!!!  This is very exciting news :-)

I found out on November 14th with a barely-positive pregnancy test.  The second line was so very faint you can’t even call it a line, but after a year and a half of staring at negative tests, I knew this one looked different.  I took a test every morning for the next four days, and then a test from a different brand.  Every day the line got darker!  I was definitely pregnant!

Monday the 16th I called the Fertility Clinic to congratulate them on their success.  They scheduled me for an ultrasound to hear the baby’s heartbeat on December 11th.  I nearly cried when I found out we would be able to hear the heartbeat so early!  After that appointment they’ll release me to OB.  After scheduling that, they sent me to OB to get the H1N1 vaccine.  H1N1 is particularly dangerous to pregnant women, so I wanted that as soon as possible.

That weekend we left for Florida with Andy’s parents and told them our great news.  They didn’t believe us at first, it took a while to sink in :-)   We arrived back in Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day and I told my family.  They are all thrilled for us!  After telling the immediate family, we got on the phone to tell Grandmas and Aunts.  After waiting for this baby for so long, it was especially emotional to finally be telling everyone I’m pregnant!

Yesterday and today I rounded up all the friends I wanted to tell, either in person, with a phone call, text message or email.  I’ve had so much support during this period, I want to make sure I thanked everyone.

Now I focus on growing a baby!  December 11th we’ll hear a heartbeat and make sure there is just one baby in there.  Around the end of February we hope to find out the sex.  And by the end of July I will be a Mommy!
